Scaphomonus sinuatus Duan & Xing, 2024, sp. nov.

Scaphomonus sinuatus sp. nov. Figs. 12–22 Description. General appearance as in Scaphomonus digitatus sp. nov., but the length of the vertex is relatively long, slightly more than 1.7x wider than median length, medially 1.6x shorter than median length of pronotum. Pronotum nearly 2.5x maximum width than median length. Male genitalia. Pygofer side base wide, apex narrow, with numerous macrosetae on posterior area (Fig. 16). Valve triangular, nearly 2.1x as broad as median length (Fig. 17). Subgenital plate subtriangular, with 8 setae along lateral margin, the outer margin about 2.2x longer than width of the base (Fig. 18). Aedeagus tubular, sinuate in lateral view, with a pair of acute processes located apically, gonopore subapical on ventral surface (Figs. 19–21). Connective Y-shaped, articulated with aedeagus, its stem nearly 1/2 length of arms (Figs. 19, 20), and with a short spine process located middle in lateral view (Fig. 21). Style elongate, apex acute; preapical lobe relatively short and rounded (Fig. 22). Measurement. Length (including tegmen): ♂, 4.8mm. Type material. Holotype ♂, China: Yunnan Prov., Yuxi City, Ailaoshan, 22 July 2012, coll. Weibin Zheng (GUGC). Etymology. The species name is derived from the Latin words “ sinuatus ”, referring to the aedeagus sinuate in lateral view.
