VIRTUAL BOOKS FOR HEALING: ASSESSING DIGITAL BIBLIOTHERAPY'S IMPACT ON PSYCHIATRIC RESILIENCE
Bibliotherapy, the therapeutic use of books to promote mental health, has long been recognized as an effective intervention (Shechtman, 2009). With the rapid advancement of digital technology, a new modality, known as 'digital bibliotherapy', has emerged. Digital bibliotherapy utilizes digital books, literature, and other reading materials delivered through electronic devices such as computers, tablets, and smartphones, to offer therapeutic benefits (Bergsland & Strøm, 2020). This modern approach integrates the traditional principles of bibliotherapy with the convenience and accessibility of digital platforms, potentially enhancing its reach and impact. Digital bibliotherapy offers several advantages, including increased accessibility to diverse literature and the ability to tailor interventions to individual needs. This abstract explores the evolution of bibliotherapy into the digital age, examining its applications, benefits, and potential challenges. By leveraging the growing accessibility of digital technology, digital bibliotherapy presents a promising avenue for addressing mental health concerns and promoting resilience among individuals facing various psychological challenges
