Laelapidae Berlese 1892

LAELAPIDAE Berlese, 1892 Laelapidae is a large family with 1088 species and 73 genera. Eleven species of laelapids were collected from Passalidae. Of these, three species were found on three species of passalids and eight species were collected from undetermined Passalidae (Pearse and Wharton 1936; Hunter and Mollin 1964; Hyatt 1964; Hunter and Yeh 1966; Delfinado and Baker 1975; Karg 1988, 1995; Villegas-Guzmán et al. 2008; Barrios-Torres and Villegas-Guzmán 2015; Gwiazdowicz and Nemati 2018; Moraes et al. 2022; Oh et al. 2023). Most species were collected from O. disjunctus (3) (Tables 2–8). Species from this family occur on Passalidae intermittently.
