Morel-Lavallée Syndrome: A Challenge in the Management of Traumatic Injuries
Background: Morel-Lavallée Syndrome (MLS) is an uncommon yet clinically intricate closed traumatic injury, marked by the sudden separation between the deep fascia and the hypodermis, leading to a hemolymphatic accumulation due to the rupture of lymphatic and blood vessels. This report discusses a case involving a 21-year-old male who sustained a complicated MLS in the right pelvic limb following an accident. The patient underwent several surgical interventions, received care from multidisciplinary teams, and was treated with negative pressure wound therapy and micrografting, achieving partial recovery and was later discharged for outpatient follow-up. Keywords: Morel-Lavallée Syndrome, degloving hematoma, negative pressure system, micrografts, MEEK
