BGLAM Scholarship in Action: Conducting Academic Research in Black Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and museums in BGLAM & Autoethnographic Contexts
Through the guise of art and autoethnography, this presentation explores how conducting academic research as an African AMerican art librarian within Black Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (BGLAM) contexts not only challenges traditional scholarly paradigms but also centers Black epistemologies, fosters community-based knowledge production, and advances BGLAM scholarship as a transformative, justice-oriented practice in cultural heritage spaces.
