FOMENTANDO A AUTONOMIA NA APRENDIZAGEM DE INGLÊS EM UMA ESCOLA PÚBLICA

This article is the result of an action project developed in the Specializationcourse in Teaching Residency at the Centro Pedagógico da UFMG and applied in amunicipal school in Belo Horizonte. As a methodology, we proposed activities based onthe concepts of Mobile Learning (Valentin, 2009; Quinn, 2011; Moura, 2012) andcollaborative pedagogies (Bittencourt, 2004), applied to teaching English. Our objectivewas to use interactive tools in order to increase autonomy in student learning, which wasnot limited to the use of technology itself, with the aim of simply “brightening” theclasses and making them more attractive. We chose topics relevant to the age group ofstudents, and, in addition, we established defined goals, provided guidance and frequentfeedback. We believe that, as a result, we have contributed to improving learners' lack ofmotivation by increasing contact, previously insufficient, with the real use of English.
