Hepatic miR-34a Promotes Steatosis and Enhances M1 Macrophage Activity via Targeting the ZFHX3/BACH1 Pathway

This is the source data containing the raw data underlying any graphs and charts in the research paper "Hepatic miR-34a Promotes Steatosis and Enhances M1 Macrophage Activity via Targeting the ZFHX3/BACH1 Pathway." In this paper, we demonstrated that miR-34a boosts hepatic lipid accumulation using both in-vitro models and mouse model of NAFLD-associated HCC. Hepatic miR-34a also targets ZFHX3/BACH1 in M1 pro-inflammatory macrophages following via exosomes, leading to M1 macrophages being fat-laden and highly invasive. By leveraging low-dose IL-6 to mimic the body’s response to physical activity, miR-34a-induced steatosis can be reduced before progressing into HCC, highlighting a potential therapeutic strategy for the early stage of NAFLD-associated HCC.
