D6.1 "Synergy report"

This Synergy Report is a deliverable for the DIAMAS Project (D6.1); it provides backgroundand context for an accompanying report: D6.2, “Recommendations and ImplementationGuidelines for Institutions, Funders, Sponsors, and Donors, and Policymakers.” Both thisreport and the recommendations have been informed by a series of workshops andconsultation events, which are described as part of D6.2(https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14719790). The Synergy Report builds on the work of theother project work packages and deliverables. The report begins with a brief overview of theefforts in the last five years to give more visibility to Diamond OA before discussing thevarious reasons to support Diamond OA as an alternative to commercial publishing. Wehave used the data from previous DIAMAS reports to provide publisher typologies in orderfor key stakeholders to more easily identify publishing operations in their organisations. Thereport also contains a summary of key project outputs that are relevant to Institutions,Funders, Sponsors, and Donors (FSDs), and Policymakers. The report concludes with a callfor stakeholders to work together to make Diamond OA a reality.
