Creative Gravity: Contradiction, Constraint and Metabolic Emergence
This field hypothesis introduces Creative Gravity, a structural framework for creative practice where coherent form emerges not through traditional authorship or inspiration, but through the sustained containment and metabolization of unresolved contradictions within a sealed field. As a field note (not a formal academic article), this working paper: Articulates a model of structural authorship—where practitioners catalyze field-emergent coherence, replacing expressive intent with constraint-driven metabolization. Defines metabolization: A non-interpretive process in which form surfaces from sustained pressure, not design or intuition. Maps the emergent process: Four observable phases—sealed containment, compounded pressure, gravitational settling, and stabilized form—challenge myths of "genius" or "inspiration". Traces cross-domain patterns: From narrative development (contradictions resolving into story structure) to AI interaction (LLMs surfacing coherence under constrained prompts) and performance (form arising from disciplined containment). For: Practitioners (writers, designers, performers) seeking non-expressive creative frameworks. Researchers in systems theory, posthumanist aesthetics, or non-anthropocentric agency Scholars studying creativity beyond human-centric models.
