Bzygowate (Diptera: Syrphidae) okolic Radomia i Puszczy Kozienickiej / Hoverflies (Diptera: Syrpihdae) of Radom area and the Kozienicka Forest
In the years 1993-2024, studies were conducted on hoverflies in the Kozienicka Forest and the city of Radom and its surroundings. The collected material consists of 826 specimens belonging to 166 species, which constitutes approx. 42% of the Syrphidae fauna of Poland. The habitats in the studied area turned out to be a refuge for many species endangered and close to the threat of extinction in Poland, e.g. Caliprobola speciosa, Chalcosyrphus femoratus, Criorhina pachymera, Mesembrius peregrinus, or in Europe, e.g. Brachyopa maculipennis, Paragus finitimus. The high faunistic value of the studied areas is also revealed by the presence of several other species being rare in Poland, e.g. Cheilosia laticornis, Meligramma cingulata and Psilota exilistyla.
