AI in Multi-Omics Integration for Precision Oncology in Medical Oncology: A Short Review

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into medical oncology has revolutionized how cancer isunderstood, diagnosed, and treated. One of the most promising applications of AI lies in multi-omicsintegration, a cutting-edge approach that combines diverse biological data layers, includinggenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and epigenomics. Each of these omics layersprovides unique insights into the molecular mechanisms driving cancer. However, the complexity andsheer volume of this data can be overwhelming when analyzed using traditional methods.AI, particularly machine learning and deep learning techniques, offers powerful tools to process, integrate, and analyze multi-omics data in ways that were previously unimaginable. By identifyingpatterns and extracting meaningful information from large, heterogeneous datasets, AI enables thedevelopment of more precise and personalized approaches to cancer treatment—an area commonlyreferred to as precision oncology. Precision oncology aims to tailor cancer treatments to the uniquemolecular profile of each patient's tumor, improving outcomes and reducing side effects.
