GOETIA KIDS

This work presents a creative and playful approach to the Goetia tradition, reimagining its characters through an accessible, child-friendly language. The project, titled Goetia Kids, was developed to demystify and deconstruct the fear and taboo that often surround this topic, fostering a deeper and more inclusive conversation. Rather than reinforcing horror narratives, the characters from the classical Goetia are reinterpreted in dialogue with figures from various mythologies, legends, and folk traditions, creating a universe where the ‘different’ is welcomed with curiosity and care. Grounded in the belief that every child has the right to explore and understand their spiritual heritage - whether Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, or esoteric - this project offers families involved in occult, magical, and alternative spiritual practices a poetic and safe resource for symbolic education. In a world where the marketplace tends to privilege certain religions and belief systems over others, Goetia Kids emerges as a response to the lack of children's material that represents spiritual worldviews outside the mainstream. Using imaginative, tender, and respectful language, the project opens new windows into what is often labeled as ‘abnormal’ or ‘forbidden,’ providing a path toward empathy, diversity, and understanding. More than an educational resource, this work is a manifesto for spiritual diversity in childhood. It affirms the right of every family - regardless of their religious or magical tradition - to pass on their values and sacred symbols to the next generation, with beauty, gentleness, and depth.
