INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO DECARBONIZING INDUSTRIAL PROCESSES: INTEGRATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY AND ADVANCED ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The industrial sector remains a significant contributor to global carbon emissions, necessitating innovative strategies to achieve decarbonization. This paper explores the integration of renewable energy sources (RES) and advanced energy storage systems (ESS) as a sustainable pathway to reduce emissions in industrial processes. By examining technological advancements, policy frameworks, and economic feasibility, the study highlights the potential of hybrid renewable-energy storage systems in enhancing efficiency and reliability while minimizing environmental impact. Key challenges, including intermittency, scalability, and cost, are discussed alongside emerging solutions such as green hydrogen, battery storage, and smart grid technologies. The findings suggest that a systemic approach combining policy incentives, technological innovation, and industry collaboration is essential for accelerating the transition toward net-zero industrial operations.
