Biodiversity path Velké Hostěrádky, 2024

The biodiversity path created in 2024 at Ekofarma PROBIO spans 7 km around the farm and includes six educational boards, offering visitors an immersive experience in learning about local ecology, organic farming, and regional biodiversity efforts. Located in the South Moravian village of Velké Hostěrádky, this project is part of the larger H2020 FRAMEwork initiative, aimed at fostering voluntary collaboration between local farmers. Led by Martin Hutař, a pioneer in organic farming, the initiative not only seeks to enhance biodiversity in the area but also aims to boost the economic prosperity of its members and raise awareness of the region’s agricultural products. As visitors walk along the path, they will gain insight into the significance of the local landscape, organic farming practices, and the collective efforts of the eight farmers involved, who manage organically around 2,000 hectares of land, including arable fields, grasslands, vineyards, and horticulture. Each educational board highlights a different aspect of the local ecosystem and the positive impact of organic farming, making this path a unique blend of education and nature.
