DEVELOPMENT, VALIDATION, AND TESTING OF VIDEO-ASSISTED INSTRUCTION IN MATHEMATICS 8
This study investigated the effectiveness of the developed and validated video instructional materials in developing mathematics skills and behavior (engagement, motivation, anxiety, and attitude) of grade 8 learners. It utilized a quasi-experimental research design in which the respondents are the 41 grade 8 learners in Bagupaye Integrated High School in Mulanay province of Quezon. An adopted questionnaire and researcher-made summative examinations were the tools used in gathering the data. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings revealed that the developed video instructional materials have a high level of acceptability based on the evaluation of the experts. Moreover, video materials significantly improved the mathematical skills and behavior (motivation, anxiety, and attitude) of the grade 8 learners. Hence, it is recommended that teachers may strengthen the integration of videos in teaching, for these improve the mathematical skills and student behavior that may result in better academic performance.
