Gamification as an Innovative Method of Socialization of Orphans in Educational Institutions: Can Games Prepare for Real Life?

The study aims to apply an innovative tool – gamification – as a modern method of socialisation of orphans in educational institutions of Ukraine. It has been found that gamification, which uses game elements and mechanics to increase motivation and engagement, can be an effective tool for developing social skills in orphans. It is determined that gamification contributes to the formation of communication skills, the development of cooperation and creativity. However, it is also emphasised that game elements cannot completely replace real life experience and emotional contacts. It is revealed that in order to achieve maximum effect, gamification should be integrated into the broader context of educational work, complementing traditional methods of teaching and support.
