RESTAURAREA A DOUĂ VASE DIN SECOLUL XIV–XV DE LA CÂMPULUNG, STR. NEGRU VODĂ, NR. 76, JUDEȚUL ARGEȘ

Summary. The excavations from the 2022 campaign carried out at Câmpulung, Argeş county, Str. Negru Vodă, no. 76, returned two pieces representative of the 14th-15th centuries to the national heritage: a three-lobed mug and a black bowl. The town of Câmpulung at that time was one of the most important commercial centres in Wallachia, being at the same time a craft centre, here there were neighbourhoods of tanners, carpenters, potters, etc.The pieces that are the subject of the present communication are produced in the ceramic workshops of the city. In our analysis, we will present various methods of preservation and restoration applied to the two ceramic objects depending on the nature of the degradation suffered as a result of lying in the ground (“in situ”). Their age and state of preservation, as well as other criteria, will allow their classification in the category of movable national heritage assets.Key words: restoration, conservation, ceramics, medieval, Câmpulung.
