How does recycling cooperatives' management work? A systematic review

Recycling cooperatives help with reverse logistics, making technological advances sustainable. However, cooperatives are managed collectively by people with a low level of education. The objective of this study is to understand how recycling cooperatives are managed and whether there is any intervention. To achieve the objectives, the PRISMA protocol was used to identify the articles that were analyzed, following the criteria of articles published in the last 9 years, in English or Portuguese, in 5 different databases. The selected articles were analyzed according to CIMO logic to understand the context, interventions, mechanisms and results found. As the main results, it was possible to identify 2 places that significantly interfere in the daily life of cooperatives and that tools such as 5s and SWOT can be used to improve the work of cooperators. This research presents an opportunity for new knowledge, given the low amount of research on the topic and the possibility of helping future research on the topic.
