Advantages and Disadvantages of using Bomb Disposal Robots
Any explosive material disposal is a very unsafe and dangerous task. Bomb disposal crews would rather remain as far away from their work site as is practical for humans, preferably engaging exclusively with disposable, remotecontrolled robots. Regretfully, disposing of bombs is also a very delicate task, and most robots are not skilled enough to disarm a bomb correctly. With recent technological advancements, robotics is likely to play an increasingly important role in various domains and segments of society, contributing to the improvement of our ability to perform a wide range of tasks efficiently and effectively. The assistive robots, particularly robotic arms, are designed to support/aid individuals in task execution, especially in situations where a person may have difficulty carrying out tasks on his own. In this research, a critical review of the bomb disposal robot arm and the application of the robots in various fields of operation is covered. The benefits and drawbacks of employing robots to dispose of bombs are thoroughly examined in this study also.
