Political Rights of Minorities: A Comparative Study of Political Representation, Voting and Party Participation in Türkiye and Azerbaijan
This research compares minorities' political engagement in Turkey and Azerbaijan, focusing on political representation, the right to vote and be elected, and participation in political parties, using current statistics and an extensive literature analysis. International human rights norms and both nations' national legal frameworks are assessed, revealing gaps between theoretical and legal guarantees of minority' political rights and their actual application. The study provides concrete and applicable policy recommendations for creating a more inclusive and democratic political environment by delving into minorities' levels of political representation, the barriers they face in electoral processes, and their political party participation practices.
