A Re-examination of History in a Conversation with Trump

I remember when President George W. Bush, after yet another of your frequent displays, inherently and uniquely, known as September 11, 2001, and the death and injury of a number of innocent people, which itself suspiciously (the memory of its doubts still salts the wound on humanity’s conscience, led astray from the true path) became an excuse for the United States’ illogical invasion of the Middle East,…in a tone far removed from diplomatic decorum and devoid of accepted human standards, with a very ugly and brazen address, called Iran, with all its glorious civilizational history, the “axis of evil” in the world. That letter became an excuse for one of the free-thinking professors of this ever-free land, named the late Pirouz Mojtahedzadeh, to address the then-President of the United States in a protesting, albeit biting, tone regarding the factors creating that offensive disgrace, both internal and external, while reminding the world and the free consciences of the world, including the intelligent people of the United States (whose account has always been separate from the political system), of the glory of this enduring and proud civilization, perhaps as an always-repeating mistake, again in the hope of non-repetition, there would be no repetition in the works. But alas, sometimes self-interest mixed with maniacal power-grabbing cannot be controlled. Strangely, President Obama and Mrs. Madeleine Albright, the then-Secretary of State during President Bill Clinton’s presidency, in similar remarks, with a confessing tone, revealed only one aspect of the illogical hostility of the political system governing the United States (the coup against the elected government of Iran during the premiership of Mohammad Mosaddegh) before the astonished eyes and consciences of the world, and considered it one of the negative aspects of America’s performance in its relations with Iran. Even more strange, it was as if behind the repetition of this issue (despite the obviousness of its illogicality) there was a kind of prestige-taking or perhaps the imposition of a sense of power and arrogance from the American political system to the world.
