PHARMACOGNOSTICAL AND PHYTOCHEMICAL EVALUATION OF AGNIMANTHA (PREMNA INTEGRIFOLIA) LEAF
Background: The present article reveals the Pharmacognocy and Phytochemical study of Agnimantha(Premna integrifolia) leaf. Material & Method: Pharmacognostical studies and Phytochemical studies werecarried out to supplement the necessary information for the systematic identification and authentication ofthis plant. Observation & Result: Leaves are simple, opposite, exstipulate, deltoid ovate to rhomboid.Ovate, entire to sinuate-crenate; sub- acute to obtuse; both surfaces of leaf are puberulous; reticulate;unicostate. In microscopic studies the presence of Trichome, Upper epidermis, Palisade, Cuticle, Lowerepidermis, Starch grain, Vascular bundle, Spiral vessels. The powder microscopy studies showed presence ofstomata, Vessels, Fibers, Oil globules. Conclusion: The structures which are observed here, helps in correctidentification of Agnimanth (Premna integrifolia) leaf.
