Factors Influencing Urban Sprawl Areas and Housing Demand in Bilecik City Center
From ancient times till now, housing has played a significant role in human existence. The concept of housing, whose fundamental function is to address the housing needs of humans, is also employed as an economic security and investment instrument. However, despite being a long-standing phenomenon, the idea of urban sprawl-which is intimately linked to the idea of housing-remains a worldwide issue that civilizations have to deal with. By utilizing Bilecik Province as an example, this study seeks to shed light on how the housing idea, urban sprawl areas, and housing demands of households and individuals are shaped in Bilecik and throughout our nation. In this direction, a thorough review of the literature was undertaken, and official institutional data on housing and variables influencing the demand for housing and urban sprawl for the years 2008–2018 were examined. Following the investigation, suggestions were given for sustainable cities with living features, minimum levels of environmental pollution, and inefficient use of resources, particularly land. To avoid housing shortages and unplanned urbanization, it is stressed that villages should be made habitable in every way and that reverse migration should be promoted.
