Harpactopus crudelis F. Smith 1856

crudelis species group Note. The species group name crudelis is used in this paper after Bohart & Menke 1963, 1976 because Harpactopus crudelis F. Smith is the type species of Harpactopus. Diagnosis. ♂ ♀: labial palpomeres 2–4 usual; arolia present; recurrent vein II of forewing received by submarginal cell III. ♂: placoids on flagellomeres narrow, depressed; S6 entire, without teeth. ♀: clypeus with Ushaped median notch; tarsal rake of foreleg with long, stout, bladelike and some hairlike setae or only with some long, stout, bladelike setae. Included species: Prionyx crudelis (F. Smith, 1856), P. indus (Linnaeus, 1758), P. judaeus (de Beaumont, 1968), P. reymondi (Roth, 1954), P. saevus (F. Smith, 1856), P. subfuscatus (Dahlbom, 1845), P. zarudnyi (Gussakovskij, 1933).
