CRISIS MIGRATION, SECURITIZATION AND APOROPHOBIA: A CONTRIBUTION TO ANALYZING THE CASE OF THE VENEZUELANS

This study discusses the phenomenon of crisis migration, characterized as a forced displacement motivated by fear for life in the country of origin, whose genesis is associated with wars, natural disasters, political persecution and other factors. The objective is to analyze how the relationship between securitization and aporophobia negatively affects the reception of migrants and refugees. The methodology used is qualitative, based on documentary analysis and bibliographic review of international reports, academic articles and specific legislation, using the content analysis technique to interpret the information and data collected. As a result, it was possible to verify that the implementation of migration policies with a securitization bias associated with aporophobia make the environment hostile, making integration and reception in receiving societies difficult. Thus, it is concluded that to mitigate the impacts of crisis migration, it is essential to reformulate reception policies, aiming to combat both the ideals of securitization and aporophobia.
