Here are some aspects that highlighttheir importance in history and in the current context. In historical periods, the fireplace was the center of community life. In the homes of the wealthy, special attention was given to the cladding and shape of the fireplaces. They were covered withmarble, cast iron plates, and bronze. As evidence, we have Manuc Bei’s mansion in Hîncești, wherewe can admire a fireplace covered with carved marble, featuring decorative elements specific toFrench classicism.People gathered around the fire to share experiences, engage in discussions, and strengthen social bonds. These gathering places contributed to the formation of communities and the transmission oftraditions. Stoves were the primary source of heat in homes before the emergence of modern heatingsystems. In cold periods of the year, stoves were essential to maintain thermal comfort in homes andprotect people from harsh weather conditions. Before the emergence of modern stoves, the fire in the stove was used for cooking and food preparation.
