The Impact of Digital Age on Enhancing Linguistic Confidence
Abstract The digital age has revolutionised language learning by offering both opportunities and challenges for English language acquisition. It has significantly influenced how people communicate and use English in speaking and writing. With the fast paced growth of technology, including artificial intelligence, chatbots and the rise of social media, effectively supports English language learning through daily interactions. However, excessive reliance on them may hinder the natural ability to acquire confidence and natural fluency in day-to-day conversations. Even though these digital tools elevate linguistic confidence by offering real-time feedback and personalised learning experiences, they also bring concerns about dependency, accuracy and results in the disappearing of traditional learning methods. This paper critically evaluates the effective strategies for integrating technology into language learning while ensuring accuracy, fluency, and adaptability in real-life communication. This study provides recommendations for educators, learners, and researchers on balancing technology with traditional learning methods to build linguistic confidence in the modern digital world.
