Making cultural data FAIR - A Microservice to FAIRify existing online databases
The starting point of the presentation is the so-called FAIR service. This was originally developed to make small archives and databases of cultural operators FAIR. Challenges such as not being able to identify all the components of an archive or a collection, or references to third-party materials, are reminiscent of requirements that also apply to the FAIR publication of research software. The article therefore brings the two lines together by transferring the lessons learned from the FAIRification of research software to those of cultural archives and databases. This is where the Go-based software FAIR-Service comes into play. It is further examined, with particular attention to the handling of PIDs.
