Impact of information and communication technologies and artificial intelligence on inclusive education: Case study in higher education institutions

Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are transforming different aspects of today's society, from basic tasks to how challenges related to people with disabilities are addressed. This research presents an exploration of regulatory aspects regarding inclusion policies at the national and international level, the use of technological and AI resources in the educational context, and the barriers faced by students with disabilities, whether hearing, visual, low vision, or reduced mobility, these being the cases present in the Higher Education Institutions (IES) of the municipality of Chiquinquirá, Colombia. Through the case study, there are four participants from different academic programs who have some disability, who have relied on ICTs since they facilitate access to adapted learning materials and allow greater participation in the classroom, without ignoring that there is still a need to delve deeper into their use, as well as in AI with personalized assistants for efficient use.
