LOFAR Deep Fields: Probing the sub-mJy regime of polarized extragalactic sources in ELAIS-N1. II. Analysis - Images and Faraday spectra

Images and Faraday spectra of the polarized sources detected in "LOFAR Deep Fields: Probing the sub-mJy regime of polarized extragalactic sources in ELAIS-N1. I. The catalog" (Piras et al. 2024) and analyzed in "LOFAR Deep Fields: Probing the sub-mJy regime of polarized extragalactic sources in ELAIS-N1. II. Analysis" (Piras et al. 2024) Polarized sources detected above 8σ_QU:The Stokes I images from Sabater et al. (2021) are shown in contours and the polarized intensity in blue colors. The contours increase by factors of sqrt(2) and start at 100 times the noise level of the Stokes I map, σ_I=30 μJy/beam for sources 02, 03, 04, 05, 07, 08, 09, 10, 19 and 24, start at 50σ_I for sources 01, 11, 17, 21, 22 and 25, start at 20σ_I for sources 12, 15 and 20; start at 5σ_I for source 23; start at 10σ_I for the remaining sources. The red crosses indicate the locations of the host galaxies. The orange square indicate the locations of the detections from Grant et al. (2010). The Faraday spectra correspond to the locations of the polarized intensity peaks. The instrumental region near 0~rad/m2 is shaded in gray. The horizontal red lines show the 8σ_QU thresholds. In the upper left of each contour map are the source number and the redshift of the source. Polarized sources detected in the 6 to 8σ_QU range:As the polarized sources detected above 8σ_QU but for polarized sources detected in the 6 to 8$\sigma_{\rm QU}$ range. The horizontal red lines in images of the Faraday spectra correspond to the 6σ_QU level. The contours increase by factors of sqrt(2) and start at 100 times the noise level of the Stokes I map, σ_I=30 μJy/beam, for source 30; start at 50σ_I for sources 28 and 31; start at 20σ_I for sources 26 and 32; start at 10σ_I for the remaining sources.
