P-16: THE EXPRESSION OF VIRULENCE GENES IN STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS AFTER CONTACT WITH HCQDS/PDMS
This study examines how contact with hydrophobic carbon quantum dots (HCQDs) embedded in polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) influences the expression of virulence genes in Staphylococcus aureus. The focus is on key genes associated with pathogenicity, such as agrA, psma, rsp, and rsaC, using real-time gene expression analysis. Supported by funding from Horizon Europe, SERI, and UKRI, this research contributes to understanding antimicrobial applications and potential impacts on bacterial gene expression.
