Calorie restriction and rapamycin distinctly mitigate aging-associated protein phosphorylation changes in mouse muscles
Calorie restriction (CR) and the treatment with rapamycin (RM), an inhibitor of the mTORC1 growth-promoting signaling pathway, are two interventions that slow down aging and promote the healthspan of animals, from worms to humans. Here we measured the phosphoproteomes of four muscles, soleus, tibialis anterior, triceps brachii and gastrocnemius, from adult (10 months), and geriatric (30 months) mice, the latter either untreated or, from 15 months of age, treated with RM or CR.
