Psychological Development in Moroccan Tennis Clubs: A Theoretical Perspective for Revitalization
This article examines the sporting life of athletes in tennis academies within the context of the process of bringing the sport back to life in Morocco. Using the literature review method, it considers the interplay of motivation, coping processes, and self-efficacy. Based on Self-Determination Theory, the Stress and Coping Framework, and Self-Efficacy Theory, the study aims to determine the best ways in which club situations can be adjusted to improve the psychological health and performance of athletes in tennis in Morocco. Important results emphasize the role of autonomy-supportive coaching in fostering intrinsic motivation, the use of psychological skills training (PST) in fostering resilience, and the use of prompt self-efficacy enhancing strategies. The review notes that there are tennis clubs in Morocco that, if they are managed properly, can produce competent, resilient athletes when these athletes are trained in a specific way. This study puts forward recommendations for coaches and clubs striving for the development of tennis in Morocco for the purpose of establishing efficient ways of nurturing athletes.
