Connecting Learning to Life: A Quality Evaluation of Magnolia Project’s Impact in Sonoma County SY 2024 - 2025
This field project evaluated the effectiveness of Magnolia Project’s Career Exploration and Apprenticeship Programs in Sonoma County during the 2024–2025 school year, focusing on 23 students across six school sites. Using a robust mixed methods approach, the study assessed the programs’ impact on student agency, engagement, motivation, and sense of belonging, as well as their relationships with industry mentors. Findings indicate that while the programs significantly increased students’ confidence, practical skills, and engagement, the analysis highlights equity considerations and underscores the importance of strong in-school curriculum integration. Insights from this evaluation will inform Magnolia Project’s efforts to address student disengagement and dropout as the program expands.
