Mitosis and Meiosis Movement

Mitosis and Meiosis Movement is designed to help students learn and understand the processes of cell division through an active, kinesthetic activity. In this whole class activity, students will be assigned one of three roles: chromosome, centrosome, or part of the nuclear membrane. Guided by instructions on laminated cards, they will then walk through the phases of these cell division processes, as shown in the diagram at right.
