A Study on the Effectiveness of the Entomopathogen Beauvaria bassiana for The Control of Larvae and Adults of the Grape Leafhopper, Arboridia kermanshah Under Laboratory Conditions

A laboratory study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of Beauveria bassiana entomopathogenic fungus on some aspects of the biology of the grape leafhopper, Arboridia Kermanshah (Homoptera: Cicadellidae). The results of the study showed that when B. bassiana fungus was used at three concentrations (0.50, 0.75, and 1.00 mg/ml) had a significant effect on the mortality of the different life stages of the insect. The 1.00 mg/ml concentration caused the highest mortality rate of the nymphal stage of 88.9 and 77.8% of the adult stage after 5 days of treatment. The results showed that there was a direct relationship between the fungus concentration and the mortality rate of the insect pest. Keywords: Arboridia kermanshah, Beauveria bassiana, biological control, grape leafhopper.
