An optimal scheduling method for port integrated energy system considering ship demand response at multiple time scales

Due to the increased peak-valley difference at long time scales caused by the differences in electricity usage of ships at the port, as well as the power fluctuations at short time scales caused by impulsive loads such as gantry cranes and hoists, there is an urgent need to achieve balanced and optimal scheduling of port integrated energy system (IES) across different time scales. To address this, an optimal scheduling method for port IES considering ship demand response at multiple time scales is proposed. At the day-ahead stage, the demand response mechanism is used to guide ships to actively participate in load adjustment, thereby reducing the peak-shaving pressure at the port. At the intraday stage, supercapacitors are introduced in combination with batteries to smooth out the power fluctuations caused by impulsive loads. Case simulation results show that after the demand response mechanism is introduced, ships adjust their energy consumption strategies based on their own needs and electricity price information, effectively reducing the peak-valley difference. By combining long-term day-ahead scheduling with intraday rolling scheduling, the day-ahead scheduling plan is corrected, improving the economic efficiency and operational reliability of the system.
