Clinical manifestations of COVID-19 in pregnant women and clinical outcomes in their newborns: A scoping review
This scoping review aims to map and synthesize evidence on the clinical manifestations of COVID-19 in pregnant women and the clinical outcomes observed in their newborns. The review will follow the framework proposed by Arksey and O'Malley and adhere to the PRISMA-ScR guidelines. Data will be collected from peer-reviewed studies published between 2019 and 2024, focusing on maternal symptoms such as fever, cough, and severe complications (e.g., preeclampsia) and neonatal outcomes like prematurity and low birth weight. This project seeks to provide insights into the impacts of COVID-19 on maternal and neonatal health, contributing to evidence-based clinical practices and public health policies.
