The Lorentz Invariance Problem in Vacuum Energy Regularization
This study investigates a conceptual contradiction in quantum field theory’s approach to vacuum energy. When a high-frequency cutoff is applied to regulate divergences, Lorentz invariance is broken due to frame-dependent Doppler shifts. As a result, the vacuum becomes observer-relative, undermining the theory’s physical objectivity. The paper argues that any physically meaningful cutoff introduces ontological contradictions if the vacuum is treated as a real fluctuating entity. It concludes that this reveals a structural deficiency in the standard framework and calls for a reinterpretation of vacuum phenomena.
