A Research-Practice Partnership to Improve Pandemic Recovery Efforts in California

The American Institutes for Research forms a research-practice partnership with the California Department of Education, UC Berkeley and UC San Diego to examine learning recovery efforts in California districts from 2022-23 to 2024-25 school years. We examine the types of programs districts have adopted to support learning recovery, and their associations with student outcomes including test scores and attendance. Longitudinal case study of nine school districts provide contextual data about local implementation, highlighting successes and challenges.
