Light-based interventions in attention deficit hyperactivity disorder: an evidence gap map and mixed-methods systematic review

This project combines (1) an evidence gap map of all relevant studies (quantitative, qualitative and reviews) examining light-based interventions (LBIs) in individuals with any type of diagnosis or presentation of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and (2) a mixed-methods systematic review of the identified literature, assessing methodological quality, risk of bias, and synthesising the results (using quantitative and/or qualitative integration, as feasible). This dual approach will highlight research gaps (via the evidence map) and offer methodological recommendations (via the systematic review component) for future studies.

Abstract

This project combines (1) an evidence gap map of all relevant studies (quantitative, qualitative and reviews) examining light-based interventions (LBIs) in individuals with any type of diagnosis or presentation of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and (2) a mixed-methods systematic review of the identified literature, assessing methodological quality, risk of bias, and synthesising the results (using quantitative and/or qualitative integration, as feasible). This dual approach will highlight research gaps (via the evidence map) and offer methodological recommendations (via the systematic review component) for future studies.
