Unfiltered Water Hypothesis

My hypothesis is that modern day water filters (i.e. in fridges) and bottled water don't contain the same beneficial microorganisms that can be found in unfiltered tap water. These benefits may be necessary in preventing depression and other illnesses. This is a hypothesis I've come to from observing a few correlations in health and filtered/bottled water use. I think this topic is under explored due to the stigma around unfiltered tap water being dangerous. Leading a large portion of the global population to avoid having its benefits. Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional or a researcher. I just think that this hypothesis should be looked into. And, I would appreciate any help.

Abstract

My hypothesis is that modern day water filters (i.e. in fridges) and bottled water don't contain the same beneficial microorganisms that can be found in unfiltered tap water. These benefits may be necessary in preventing depression and other illnesses. This is a hypothesis I've come to from observing a few correlations in health and filtered/bottled water use. I think this topic is under explored due to the stigma around unfiltered tap water being dangerous. Leading a large portion of the global population to avoid having its benefits.
