Contribution of speech-language pathology and pediatric dentistry in the pre- and post-operative management of ankyloglossia: A scoping review
This scoping review protocol aimed at mapping the contributions of speech-language pathology and pediatric dentistry in the postoperative management of ankyloglossia. The databases used will include MedLine via PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, LILACS, and EMBASE, using “entry terms.” Grey literature will be consulted through ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Citation Index via Web of Science, LIVIVO, and Google Scholar. Initially, a search strategy was developed for MedLine via PubMed and subsequently adapted for the other databases. The web-based software Rayyan (Qatar Computing Research Institute, Doha, Qatar) will be used for screening, where two independent reviewers will analyze the documents based on titles and abstracts, applying predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Afterward, the full texts will be reviewed and analyzed according to the same criteria. Metadata will be collected using a standardized form. The results will be presented in a flowchart and a narrative summary, following PRISMA-ScR guidelines. This scoping review is expected to provide an overview of the available scientific evidence and identify gaps that require further investigation on the studied topic.
