The Utilization of LLCs in Affinity-Based Financial Exploitation
This project documents a recurring behavioral and financial pattern involving the use of Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) in affinity-based financial exploitation schemes. Through public records and civil court filings from 2012 to 2025, this case study highlights how legal entities can be used to shift liability away from the orchestrator and onto victims—often romantic partners—who are left exposed to audits, lawsuits, or financial penalties. The brief is intended for researchers, regulators, attorneys general, and investigative bodies interested in policy reform, risk assessment, and the intersection of emotional manipulation and business entity misuse.
