PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH ASPECTS OF FEMALE POLICE OFFICERS: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW
The military police profession imposes high physical and mental demands, resulting in significant stress that can lead to health problems such as cardiovascular diseases. Although studies on stress address both sexes, the specificities of women in this context have been neglected. The inclusion of women in security forces in Brazil began slowly in 1955, and until the 1990s, their roles were limited. Although the acceptance of female police officers has increased, the literature still lacks research focused on their experiences and health.
