Gender dynamics in self-resilience: evidence from junior high school students in Indonesia (datasets)

This dataset contains responses from 1,000 junior high school students in Magelang Regency, Indonesia, collected to examine gender differences in self-resilience. The study assessed five dimensions of self-resilience—optimism, empathy, emotion regulation, problem cause analysis, and self-efficacy—using a standardized questionnaire. Results indicate that female students reported significantly higher self-resilience scores than male students across all dimensions, with optimism receiving the highest overall mean score. The dataset can be used to explore adolescent resilience patterns, gender dynamics, and potential implications for targeted mental well-being and educational interventions.
