Thalamic involvement defines distinct slow-wave subtypes in NREM sleep

This repository contains the code and supporting materials for the study “Thalamic involvement defines distinct slow-wave subtypes in NREM sleep” (Bergamo et al., 2025). The repository includes scripts for EEG preprocessing, slow-wave and spindle detection, fMRI preprocessing, and EEG-fMRI integration. It also provides tools for clustering slow waves based on thalamic BOLD responses and for statistical comparisons across slow-wave subtypes. The analyses span MATLAB and Bash scripts, and cover all steps from raw data preprocessing to statistical comparisons of slow-wave subtypes based on thalamic BOLD activity.
