The study of 44 albums has allowed us to make an approximation to the topographic photography that professional photographers carried out in Spain and to observe the relative importance of each one according to their production and their ability to become part of the albums of those travelers who traveled the Spanish geography from 1860 to 1900. Among the authors of those photographs, the brilliant figure of Charles Clifford, or the short but productive presence of Luis Masson, stand out since the sixties, later we see the figure of Jean Laurent emerge, who arrives to stay until almost the end of the century, matched only by the commercial power of Léon et Lévy in its last fifteen years. The data is even more revealing in relation to local photographers, highlighting among them Mauzaisse and Rafael Garzón from Granada, Casiano Alguacil, in Toledo, and Emilio Beauchy in Seville. The study reveals the most frequented places, the intensity with which each city impacted the perception of travelers and its relevance in relation to the rest. It also provides a numerical basis on which to base highlights facts in Spanish photohistory, this being one of the main contributions of the study.
