Prevention And Treatment Of Chronic Energy Deficiency In Pregnant Women: A Scoping Review

This project is a scoping review titled "Prevention and Treatment of Chronic Energy Deficiency in Pregnant Women". The purpose of this study is to map existing research and intervention strategies related to Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) among pregnant women, a condition still prevalent in Indonesia and associated with adverse maternal and neonatal health outcomes. The review was conducted following the Arksey & O’Malley framework and PRISMA-ScR guidelines. Literature was sourced from PubMed, Wiley Online Library, ProQuest, and ScienceDirect, using a PCC (Population, Concept, Context) approach. Articles were screened based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and quality was appraised using JBI and CASP tools. A total of 10 articles were analyzed and synthesized into four major themes: (1) risk factors of CED, (2) impacts on pregnancy and infant health, (3) nutritional interventions for CED, and (4) prevention strategies within public health policies. This preregistration aims to ensure transparency and reproducibility in the review process and will serve as a foundation for further research, publications, and policy recommendations in maternal nutrition.
