Pillar 5 – International Solidarity (Focused Hypothesis)
Focused Hypothesis for Pillar 5 – International Solidarity This component articulates a confirmatory hypothesis addressing the role of international solidarity in countering autocratic consolidation within the United States. Building from the exploratory hypothesis, it focuses on how coordinated actions—such as diplomatic pressure, global protest movements, transnational advocacy, and international watchdog engagement—can constrain domestic authoritarian behavior through reputational costs and geopolitical leverage. Included are the structured hypothesis, theoretical justification based in international relations and democratic resilience literature, and a testable research framework.
